Our frequently asked questions
FAQ – Elegance Wedding Cars
We often take bookings 1 year in advance. Our advice is to book your wedding car as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We often send quotes out for the same date and work on a first come first served basis. A £50-00 deposit secures your wedding car booking.
All the cars on this website are owned by ourselves, these are the actual wedding cars that will arrive on your wedding day.
You can contact us by email or phone to check the car of your choice and your date is free.
The details we need are, the date of your wedding, Pickup Address and telephone number for that address, Place of marriage Address, time of Service and Reception Address.
We will send you a completed booking form. A £50-00 deposit (non-refundable) will secure your booking with us. You may pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer. Once the booking form and deposit has been paid, we will confirm booking by email.
We don’t show a set price as each wedding is different. We need to know all the wedding details. We will then send you a quote on the information you have provided.
Our cars are maintained to the highest standard and each car is checked, cleaned and prepared before each wedding. Classic and Vintage cars are far more basic than the modern cars of today where it is almost impossible to repair a fault on a modern car without the aid of a diagnostics computer. We do reserve the right to substitute an alternative vehicle in the unlikely event of an accident or breakdown etc, wherever possible.
It’s your big day… why not? It’s wonderful to get to your ceremony in elegance and style. The wedding car will wait until the ceremony finishes for those all important photo shots of you and your wedding car.
When the wedding and reception are in the same place, we offer you the opportunity to have a short drive before taking you to your venue.
It is a criminal offence for wedding car hire companies who do not hold a Liquor License to provide
Champagne (alcohol) even if supplied free of charge.
MAXIMUM PENALTY – £20,000 FINE and/or 6 MONTHS PRISON SENTENCE
We do not hold a Liquor License and therefore cannot provide alcohol.
Your custom is very important, but we won’t break the Law to gain your booking.
The champagne service is subject to UK licensing laws as wedding car companies are not allowed by law to provide alcohol for the Bride & Groom unless they have a special license. Even if a wedding car company provides champagne on a complimentary basis, in other words ‘Free’, a special licence is still required as the law considers it is an ‘indirect sale’. These licenses are very expensive to obtain and must be renewed annually. Providing alcohol on a ‘complimentary’ or ‘chargeable’ basis is classed as a sale and without the appropriate licence it is an offence contrary to Section 136 of the Licensing Act 2003 and a person found guilty is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months and/or a fine not exceeding twenty thousand pounds.
However, the good news is although we are unable to actually provide the champagne [even if free] the law will allow wedding car companies to ‘serve’ Champagne ‘provided by you’ the client. We are more than happy for you to provide your own chilled champagne and the chauffeur will open it for you when the Bride & Groom are seated in the car after the ceremony. All you need to do is have this ready for the chauffeur to collect on his arrival at the collection address, he will then ensure it is safely stowed in the car before the first passengers board.

No we only do Weddings the law states wedding cars and funeral cars are exempt from being licensed as long as they only do weddings and funerals. If a wedding car hire company does not have licensed cars like a mini cab they are working illegally. It is not possible for Vintage and Classic cars to be licensed they are too old. If you hire one for a Prom or evening out and something happened you would not be covered by insurance.
Our Vintage Cars are 80 years old, we have great respect for them and treat all our car with loving care. We are one of the few Vintage and Classic Wedding Car companies that go into Central London and Westminster Areas. We cover London, Central London, East London, Romford, Dagenham, Loughton, Hackney, Buckhurst Hill, Wood Green, Chigwell, Tottenham. If you go to our contact us page we can let you know if we cover your area.
When you find a wedding car company ask if they actually own the car themselves. Always ask to view the car even if you don’t want to. If they won’t let you view don’t book with them as they probably don’t have that car or the car is in poor condition. Also ask if that is the actual car that will arrive on your wedding day.
